PICC, as a business chamber, has been conducting various programmes for its members, the Perak Indian business community and the general public as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility portfolio. Insofar as entrepreneurship is concerned, PICC strongly believes that all efforts must be aimed at the creation and transformation of an entrepreneurial class in the community by way of an innovative approach that incorporates elements such as engagement, education and development of expertise to ensure sustainability. In this regard, PICC had conducted various training and entrepreneurship programmes for traders, entrepreneurs, women, youth and students over the years that have eventually become an essential component of its core business.

Programmes & Activities

Through effective implementation of the programmes, PICC will be able to accomplish the following:

Youths will divert their attention away from negative influences;
Women will see alternative modes of employment; they will feel empowered;
Students will be motivated and be able to focus on their studies and those who are not academically-inclined will be introduced to skills training; and
There will be a major transformation in the actions, attitudes, beliefs and practices of Indian Malaysians.

Programmes offered for aspiring and practicing entrepreneurs:

Talks with Financial Institutions;
Business Development Talks and Seminars with Government Agencies; and
Trade and Investment Conference.

Vocational skills courses offered for women:

Flower Arrangement Workshops;
Professional Training in Tailoring Skills;
Culinary, Pastry and Bakery Courses; and
Professional Training in Indian Bridal & Beauty Skills.
